This is a version of the popular I-Spy game, which helps children with their vocabulary, language and speech sound skills. You can play with your child, taking turns.
- Choose one of the pictures on the sheet. Say “I spy with my little eye, something beginning with ___.”
- Your child has to look at the sheet and guess the picture you are thinking of, and then colour it in. If they are stuck you can narrow it down and point to a choice of 2-3 pictures.
- You can take it in turns so your child chooses a picture from the sheet for you to guess.
- You could also use a description instead of the first letter – for example “I spy with my little eye a colourful insect which can fly” (butterfly).
