You can use these ‘Treasure hunt’ sheets around the house or when you go for a local walk. There is also a blank sheet that you can use with your child to decide what ‘treasure’ you are going to look for!
This game will help children to develop their vocabulary, as well as help them learn to focus on a task. You can talk about the objects as you look for them. For example you could ask:
- What do we use it for?
- Where do we normally find it?
- Have you seen one before?
- How does it feel? Is it soft?
- Can you think of a word that it rhymes with
