Information for parents/carers:
This is a game to support children’s story-telling skills. Each night put teddy in a new place in the house. Create a “scene” around teddy, e.g. spilt flour, other toys etc.
In the morning, ask your child to find where teddy is and see if they can work out what happened.
Your child can be a “detective” and say how they think teddy got there and what teddy did! You can add ideas: “What did he do first?”, “So what happened next?”, “Then what happened?”.
You can also help them to learn new words by introducing more things to your scene, e.g. maybe teddy was having a picnic: can your child tell you what teddy was eating?
What you need:
- A teddy / soft toy
- Any other objects (e.g. household items, other toys, pencils and crayons)
- Activity for home.
- Supports story-telling and narrative, vocabulary
- Suitable for Early Years
