Everyday stories: What did we do today?

Information for parents/carers:

  • Take photos throughout the day of you and your child doing different things (brushing their teeth, eating lunch, going to the park, playing with toys, etc).  This could be on your phone or tablet.
  • Take time at the end of the day to sit down and look at the photos together.
  • Let your child lead the talking and tell you the story of their day, using the pictures to remind them what happened.
  • For example, “I ate breakfast and then I brushed my teeth. Then we walked to school and saw my friend Mohammed”.

This will help children to wind down at the end of the day. It will also help them to practice their story-telling skills and ability to talk about past events.
