The Children’s Integrated SaLT Service for Hackney and the City is funded by multiple commissioners including Homerton University Hospital, Hackney Learning Trust (Additional Needs and Children’s Centres), London Borough of Hackney and individual schools, academies, colleges and nurseries. By pooling resources we have created a cohesive service that makes best use of resources.
The service welcomes additional commissions from individual settings, schools and colleges. Currently over sixty individual commissions are in place. The majority of these are located in Hackney however it is possible for institutions outside of Hackney to commission the service.
The service has participated in traded services for over eight years. Robust systems exist to ensure the best quality of service provision e.g., clinical supervision, ongoing CPD for staff, engagement in clinically based research. The service quality has been recognised by a number of awards and achievements.
SLTs who work for the service are selected through a rigorous recruitment process and are typically highly motivated and skilled. The Hackney SaLT team is large (over 75 staff), meaning individual SaLTs have access to a wealth of resources and expertise.
If you would like to discuss renewing or establishing a new traded services agreement please contact the SaLT office who will put you through to the relevant team member. Various packages are available including bespoke training, programmes to support whole classes (Launch Pad for Language) and year around SaLT working in school (e.g., two days / week).
We are pleased to work in partnership with several post 16 provisions to ensure all young people and young adults are encouraged to reach their potential. Please click here for more information.
